Thomas J. Lafoe must have a lot of family that are following his case from afar. How do I know this? Mostly because I can see who’s looking for what in the admin part of my blog. In fact, today there have been more searches for Lafoe than for Jeff Norton. I know about how many people look for Jeff’s information, so I have a pretty good idea of how many folks are looking for Lafoe’s updates. I know how to use the internet too, and I know that most of you live in the northeast. A few of you have made comments various places on the web apologizing for his actions, disparaging his reputation or trying to redeem your family reputation.
9/21/11 Jeff Norton Update
Basically, with the exception of depositions, the case will start over again. The pretrial hearing after October 6th is the one we should plan to attend. It is currently scheduled for November 2, 2011 at 8:30 am.
Hearing Cancelled
The hearing for Jeff Norton scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:30 am was reportedly cancelled. I am on hold with the state attorney’s office right now trying to verify this as I type. An update will be posted as soon as I find anything out. The state attorney’s secretary is away from her desk .
Did Nominees Outnumber Ticket Holders at Jeff Norton Theater Awards?
Theater people tend to be outgoing and sociable, so the first Jeff Norton Theater Awards was a merry affair, though it was also undercut by a certain melancholy, given the circumstances. The awards honor the bay area actor who was the victim of a shocking murder last year.

Update on Jeff Norton’s Murder Case
The pre-trial hearing for Jeff Norton’s murder, scheduled on January 10, was held today. According to the defense, there are three sets of discovery depositions. Pretrial Hearing Set for April in Lafoe vs. Florida
The defendant is represented by public defenders. The defense stated that it had sent out 28 subpoenas for depositions. Judge Ley questioned the dates of the depositions and attorney Darren Waters stated that the last one would be completed “8-10 weeks out.” [The other defense attorney is Amanda Sellers, who was present today as well.]
