A Song for Jeff

Bill Down recorded a song I’m sure is for Jeff. It’s peaceful and brings healing to hear. Jeff, you’re very much on our minds and are loved. We struggle to understand man’s inhumanity to man and send prayers and blessed thoughts to your family.

A little improvisation along the way added to the fun. Rick was drilling the umbrella stand in place on the “stage” as the band played. Steve kept them so “hydrated” that they said they wanted to take him on their next world tour. That is to the “Dam Smoker” in Eustis next week.

Day Trip to the Fancy Flea

Twice a year downtown Lakeland, Florida is transformed into “one of the top 10 small flea markets of America according to the readers of Romantic Homes Magazine.” Lakeland is an ideal shopping day trip and this event is held for one day only in the spring and in the fall. This year the spring show fell on the last Saturday of April.

The small town atmosphere of Lakeland is pretty non-commercial compared to Mount Dora. There were fewer eateries in the downtown area but the show worked out quite well. Many shoppers dined at restaurants located near the 1-4 on-ramp. Access to the show from the Tangerine / Mount Dora area is excellent. Simply take the 429 to I-4. We used a GPS to get to Kentucky Avenue in the heart of downtown.
