Jeff Norton is on my mind. I know other people are thinking of him because “Jeff Norton” is showing up in my WordPress stats. People are looking for information and perhaps hoping to discover that his murder was simply a mix-up and it didn’t happen. Jeff is being remembered and mourned.
Monday is the preliminary hearing for his accused killer. I am wondering what horrible things I will hear. I don’t want to be there. I am not considering not being there. I am more aware than ever of the fleeting aspect of this worldly life. I want to wake up from this nightmare in a safe world where I don’t know how to spell “subpoena” and can’t envisioning ever needing to know.
I don’t know how to end this post so I’ll do so with an astute comment made by Lisa Schamess in response to the fact that my cat really liked Jeff. ”He was a great lover of cats, he was. He was a bit catlike himself. With Marlboros.”
That says a lot. It does.

I’ve done a version of this at campfires (he taught me this) use the plastic rings from a sixpack, hang over the fire off a long stick – colors happen, and cool sound effects too!
