The Parks of Mount Dora: Have You Seen This?

Check out this link to see the Preliminary Illustrative Plan. This isn’t a park or a village. It’s a small city!

According to the website, “Park Village at Stoneybrook Hills is being planned as a Community Center. We have been working very closely with the Community to help design the project. It is being planned by Tim Bailey who is a long time neighbor of this community. He and his planning team are placing special emphasis on responding directly to the identified needs of the residents. It will be a 65 acre project in Northwest Orange County serving the residents of Stoneybrook Hills, Sullivan Ranch, Mount Dora, Tangerine and Zellwood.”

We can’t let this happen!

  1. I see in the Lake County section of the Orlando Sentinel this morning that the City of Mt. Dora wants to get a handle on and gather information on all the downtown vacancies. Apparently this is the No. 1 concern amongst citizens of Mt. Dora. I guess my point is, with all the vacancies in town, do you really think the City is going to approve a development that would take business and $$$$ away from them?

  2. Unless Tim has some serious financial backers I don’t see this project being built. I agree with others that he is attempting to get the approvals in place and cash out. While this area could use the additional jobs I am afraid the project will not be anything close to what is being pitched.

    • I agree. I, too, would love to see the jobs, even though the pay would be mediocre, but I just don’t see this happening anytime soon, especially given the current economic climate. And everything I’ve read and heard suggests the same thing, i.e., Bailey will get approval and cash out. This “Parks of Mount Dora” or “Parks at Stoneybrook Hills” or whatever Bailey is calling it will never happen as is being presented. Amazing how many people are drinking the Bailey Kool-Aid.

  3. Very nice! Let’s hope this happens!
